Anigozanthos ‘Amber Velvet is an attractive new hybrid Kangaroo Paw, featuring large strappy leaves reaching 2′ in height. Amber Velvet has a stunning range of red and yellow flowers growing to a height of 3′ from the ground, appearing in spring and early summer. These flowers produce large amounts of nectar, attracting hummingbirds birds to the garden. It’s frost hardy and will survive in full sun in a well drained position. It is an ideal plant for smaller gardens and containers. After flowering remove the older stems low in the plant. The Velvet Range series are tough and have better drought and frost tolerance and is more resistant to black spot.
